Aaron R. Fillingame

Aaron R. Fillingame, age 46 of Colquitt, Georgia, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Emory Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was born on October 23, 1975, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Mrs. Diane Fillingame and the late Mr. Elonzie Fillingame Sr.

He was with the Class of 1996 of Miller County High School.  Aaron had extreme talent in sports.  He was a great baseball player and an awesome football player of the Miller County Pirates.  Though Aaron’s health failed him, it did not stop him from mentoring young boys to play baseball and football.  Aaron will be missed by all those whom he touched.

Aaron leaves his love and cherished memories to his beautiful daughter, Aareyona Akeiria Fillingame of Bainbridge, Georgia, and nine siblings (five brothers and four sisters):  Patrick Fillingame, Mammie Fillingame, Gevincin Fillingame (Latosha), all of Colquitt, Georgia, Markel Fillingame of Bainbridge, Georgia, Janice Fillingame, Eddie Fillingame, Robin Fillingame, Elonzie Fillingame Jr., all of Macon, Georgia, and Pamela Whitfield (Derick) of Lizella, Georgia.  He was loved by many surviving uncles and aunts: Mary Thornton, Leroy Thornton, Otis Thornton, all of Colquitt, Georgia, David Vinson, and Neslon Vinson, both of Macon, Georgia; four nephews; eight nieces; three great nephews; and three great nieces.  Aaron had special family and friends by whom he was well loved:  Laquient Macklin, Cedric Key, Everette Handford, and Travis Snell.
