Carolyn "Mutt" Stepney

November 8, 1952 — April 9, 2024

Bainbridge, GA

Just as the sun does not ask permission to shine, neither did Carolyn.  While fighting a battle with cancer, she continued to shine until GOD saw fit to bring HIS Angel Home.

Carolyn Walker Stepney (better known as “Mutt”) was born November 8, 1952, in Climax, Georgia, to Roscoe Walker II, who preceded her in death, and Allie Walker.  On the early morning of April 9, 2024, GOD came and got HIS wonderful daughter.

Carolyn received her early education in the public schools in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia.  After finishing Hutto High, Carolyn Walker joined in Holy Matrimony to Steven Edward Stepney in Plainfield, New Jersey; he preceded her in death.  Now married, Carolyn decided to explore the workforce with ITT Industrial, D. Rose, and Decatur County Road Services.  In her later years, you would find her working, smiling and enjoying life at Florence Grocery in West Bainbridge.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories four children:  Cedrick Walker of Toledo, Ohio, Teresa Tate (Lorenzo), David Stepney (NaTasha), both of Bainbridge, Georgia, and stepson/nephew John Rollins Jr. (Deloria) of Lake City, Florida; ten loving grandchildren: Brianna Walker, Brooke Walker, Diamond Moran (Chris), Malik Tate, DeAlex Martin (Michelle), Farnessa Tate, Demetris Tate, Jasmine Tate, Laquishia Bouie (Quinton Jr.), and Davonte Stepney; fifteen great grandchildren: Jayln Walker, Tucker Moran, Annysia Martin, Zahra Turner, Amber Martin, Kai Turner, Laila Martin, LaTaria Raymond (Bedson), Tahari Tate, Carl Boldin III, Camille Boldin, Larenia Wilson, Tristan Parks, Logan Bouie, and Parker Bouie; two great-great grandchildren, Jontavius Smith and Lauren Raymond; mother, Allie Walker of Bainbridge; five brothers: Carson Walker (Henriettta) of Climax, Georgia, Roscoe Walker III (Bertha), Ralph Walker (Liz-deceased), Lee Walker (Linda), and Charles Walker, all of Bainbridge; five sisters:  Ethel Walker of Plainfield, New Jersey, Mary Walker, Brenda Glaze (Lee), Lisa Bowden (Frankie), and Pamela Walker, all of Bainbridge;  two goddaughters, Rhonda Peterson and Ashley Miller; a loving and caring longtime friend, Deborah James (Bruce); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
