Elbert L. Fountain was born March 5,1952, in Cyrene, Georgia. He was the firstborn of the late Robert Fountain Sr. and Wilma I. Fountain. His brothers Sonny, Leonard and Carlus and his sister Lucindy Fountain all preceded him in death.
Elbert only received a small amount of education as a young child because of his disability. Despite this obstacle, he learned and acquired many skills through hands-on experience. Our family considered Elbert as our “handyman”, because there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix or repair.
Although Elbert didn’t have any biological children of his own, he was always the Uncle who would take care of his nieces and nephews whenever called upon.
On Monday, February 28, 2022, GOD called Elbert Home from Labor to Eternal Rest. He will be sorely missed.
To cherish his memories, he leaves his loving mother, Wilma I. Fountain of Bainbridge, Georgia; two sisters, Alisa D. Haynes (Greg) and Marva D. Fountain (Dennis), both of Bainbridge; and three brothers: Shelly Fountain (Umeka) of Conyers, Georgia, Gene L. Fountain (Helen) of Memphis, Tennessee, and James B. Fountain of Lancaster, California. His host of nieces and nephews will hold his memories dear, as well as other relatives, neighbors and
friends.
