Eula Mae Bouie Moultrie

November 26, 1924 — June 30, 2023

Chicago, IL

Eula Mae Bouie Moultrie and her twin brother Buddy Bouie were born on November 26, 1924, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to the late Robert and Olena Cady Bouie.  Eula transitioned from this life on Friday, June 30, 2023, at her home in Chicago, Illinois, and is now in the presence of our LORD And SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.

Eula was affectionately called “Sister” by her thirteen siblings and family members, and at a very young age, she accepted JESUS CHRIST as her Personal SAVIOR as a member of Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Fowlstown, Georgia.  Eula was homeschooled by her mother who was an educator in the Florida School System.  Eula graduated from Hutto High School in Bainbridge, Georgia, where she met her husband Thelma L. Moultrie.  They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1942, and from this union they had two children, Willie and Charlotte.

In 1947, Eula relocated to Chicago to attend and graduate from the University of Chicago Nursing School.  Eula found fulfillment and pleasure in her life as a nurse, and she maintained a license until the age of 80.  In 1956, Eula joined Normal Park Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, which is now Resurrection Church of Chicago; she had been an active and faithful member for over 67 years.  Eula was also an active member of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Matron and Worthy Matron and held several state positions within the organization.

Eula leaves to cherish loving memories her two children Willie Moultrie and Charlotte White (Arthur), both of Chicago, IL; stepson Calvin Moultrie (Alice) of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren Andre Moultrie, Andrea O’Neal (Earl), both of Chicago, IL, and Alana White of Atlanta, GA; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Lena Mae Nathaniel of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
