Joan I. Moreland

July 31, 1947 — December 13, 2022

In the late evening hours of December 13, 2022, our beloved Joan Moreland completed her earthly assignment and peacefully entered into Heaven's Gate to be with THE LORD.

Joan Moreland was born on July 31, 1947, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. James R. Kenney and Mrs. Bertha Kenney.  She was educated in the Middlesex County Public School System.  At an early age, Joan accepted JESUS CHRIST as her LORD And SAVIOR.  Joan retired from Johnson & Johnson after a 32-year career as a Lab Technician.  She then embarked on a second career where she devoted her time and talents to helping others as a healthcare professional with FirstLight Homecare.  In her day-to-day responsibilities as a caregiver, Joan shared her heart for serving others.

Joan was a special person, known to be a loving wife, devoted sister, and great mother, grandmother, and aunt.  She loved her husband Tom, affectionately known as “Babe”, beyond words; and she was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Joan was Beautiful, Kind, Loving, and Compassionate.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother Bertha Kenney, father James R. Kenney, her twin brother Jack Kenney and a very special cousin Lily Kenney.

Joan leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband of 37 years, Mr. Thomas  Moreland Sr.; two sons, Gregory Cunningham (Pete) and Clyde Marshall Jr.; stepson, Thomas Moreland Jr. (Bernice); grandchildren:  Lamar, Ashley, Mark, Janaya, Jaslynn, Tommy, and James; siblings:  Anthony Kenney (Debora), James Kenney (Connie), Yvonne Matthews, and Cecelia Kenney; stepbrother, Walter Black; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
