Josephine Pittman

March 11, 1927 — January 23, 2015

JOSEPHINE PITTMAN was born on March 11, 1927 to the late Annie Mae Adams Harrell and Jessie Harrell of Edison, Georgia. She received CHRIST at an early age. She met and married Willie James Pittman Sr. in Edison, Georgia. Josephine moved from Edison to Bainbridge, Georgia in 1952 and resided on Green Street before she moved to Monroe Street in 1965. Josephine was affectionately known as "Phine", "Joe Joe" and "Momma Joe". She is mainly remembered for sitting on her porch and speaking to everybody who came by. Mrs. Connie Hunter was there for her everyday until her health failed and she moved to Johnson's Personal Care Home on February 8, 2007. Josephine was called to Eternal Rest on Friday, January 23, 2015. She was preceded in death by the lover of her life, John Moultry, and four sisters: Fanny, Ida Mae, Lillie Mae, and Bertha. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, Emma Mae Harris and husband Enough Harris of California; son, Willie James Pittman Sr. of Bainbridge, Georgia; six grandchildren: Ronnie, Angela, Tabitha, Latania, Willie Jr., and Shandolyn; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Jordan of California; goddaughter/friend, Evangelist Connie Hunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and the loving and caring staff and residents of Johnson's Personal Care Home.
