Margaret Janice Taylor Screen

Margaret was born June 28, 1942, in Colquitt, Georgia, to the late Joseph B. Taylor and Susie Bell Davis Taylor.  Margaret was one of seventeen children in which fifteen preceded her in death.  She was educated in the Miller County, Georgia Public School System.  After graduation she relocated to Tampa to live with her sister Geraldine Rodgers.  She soon met the love of her life, Calvin Screen Sr., and the two were married on July 24, 1962.  Calvin was a successful entrepreneur and business owner, which allowed Margaret to be a homemaker to raise their eight children.  In November 1999 when THE LORD called Calvin Home, Margaret became the matriarch of her family, overseeing the family businesses and continuing  to guide her children with wisdom.  

Margaret was a strong woman of faith and a lady of few words.  She loved caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.  She was caring, kind, giving, and always put others before herself.   Margaret enjoyed daily walks at the mall, shopping, and family gatherings.  She was a longtime member of the Mall Walkers of Brandon.  She faithfully donated to charities.  Margaret also enjoyed traveling to spend time with family.

On January 16, 2024, Margaret Janice Taylor Screen was called to her Heavenly home to be with our LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memories eight children:  Ullah Screen of Dade City, FL, Uzzah Ali Screen (Tonya) of Zephyrhills, FL, Joseph Screen Sr. (Monique) of Seffner, FL, Melvin Screen (Darlene)of McDonough, GA, Margaret L. Screen-Stokes (Karl), Daniel Screen, Jonithon E. Screen, all of Seffner FL, and Dolly M. Andrews (Darrick) of Riverview, FL; one stepson, Chris Screen Sr. of Charlotte, NC; seventeen grandchildren:  Gabriel Screen, Antonio Screen, Quincy Screen, Ali Screen Jr., Jabari Screen, Joseph Screen II, Joshua J. Screen, Melnisha Screen, Mekeylia Screen, LaBricia Screen, Zaina A. Stokes, Zoi Sophia Stokes, Dyamond Screen, De’Ayra Screen, Daniel Screen Jr., Brian D. Newsome, and Brianni M. Newsome; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Taylor Irvin of Queens, NY; two brothers-in-law, Mack Screen (Dorothy) of Bronx, NY, and Roy Screen of Newark, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Screen of Aurora, CO, and Rebecca Screen of Lakeland, FL; a host of nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt Janice”; several cousins; and her extended family:  Darick Jr., Darian, Marquela, Kia, Tray, Vanessa, and DJ.
