Martha Anderson

May 11, 1943 — January 9, 2025

Martha Anderson of Colquitt, Georgia, was born May 10, 1943, to Mr. Ulysee Anderson and Mrs. Mary Jane Baldwin-Anderson. She attended the Miller County Public School System at Magnolia School until she willingly stopped her education to care for her great grandmother Martha Phillips until her passing.

At an early age, she accepted CHRIST as her SAVIOR when she joined Pilgrim Rest African Methodist Episcopal Church. She remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.

Later in life, Martha, affectionately called “Mott”, started her employment at Colquitt Alternative Care Home. She worked for fifteen-plus years until her retirement.

On January 9, 2025, between the hours of 9 pm and 10 pm, GOD told her, “Come on Home, MY Child. I have released you from all of your suffering and pain. You can now lay in MY Arms and Rest.” She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Louise Anderson-Wilson, and two brothers Reuben Baldwin and Hartwell Baldwin.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Alvin Anderson (Tracy) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one daughter who was her caretaker, Arie Anderson of Colquitt, GA; four grandchildren: Rashad Anderson of Brooklyn, NY, Joshua Kenon of Bainbridge, GA, A. J. Anderson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Kayla Anderson-Williams (Rico) of Colquitt, GA; two great grandchildren, Kayiden Williams (her heart) and Emaya Williams; one step-great grandchild, Bryson Williams; one brother, Melvin Baldwin (Clematine) of Orlando, FL; one sister, Mary Alice Burke (Minister Marvin) of Orlando, FL; one of her dearest nieces at heart, Marilyn Baldwin of Orlando, FL; additional nephews and nieces; thirteen great nephews and nieces; seventeen great-great nephews and nieces; and a host of cousins and friends.
