Mr. Robert Clary, born October 3, 1926, in Fowlstown, Georgia, was the last child birthed to the late Mr. Ruben and Mrs. Febby Clary. His eight siblings–Ike Clary, George Clary, Willie Clary, Lester Clary, Chester Clary, Ruby Lee Hill, Nettie Lee Jackson, and Ida Mae Hill–preceded him in death.

Mr. Robert was wed to the former Alver Mae Wheeler on March 20, 1954. The two were married for sixty-nine years before her death in December 2023. One son, Larry Wheeler, preceded them in death.

Mr. Robert worked at Elberta Crate & Box Company. He also was employed by the City of Bainbridge for over twenty-five years, where he retired as the city’s street sweeper. His favorite hobbies were tinkering with his lawn mowers, watching cowboys on television, and fishing.

Mr. Robert departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at home. His absence will be felt by his loved ones.

Mr. Robert leaves many loved ones to cherish his memories–two sons, Lenoris Keith Clary (Jennifer) and Robert Eugene Clary; seven grandchildren: Larry Wheeler Jr., Fredrick A. Clary, Nina D. Clary, LaTasha Patterson, Tasia Potter, Gwendolyn D. Clary and Amrie Wheeler; seven great grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
