Ruthie Mae Tyler

MRS. RUTHIE MAE TYLER passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016. Born September 23, 1923, she was the thirteenth and last child of Rev. John and Mrs. Fannie Marshall of Fowlstown, Georgia. Ruthie was a lifelong resident of Bainbridge, Georgia and was educated in the Decatur County School System. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she served as a secretary. Later in life, Ruthie joined John the Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. The former Miss Marshall married Eula Tyler in 1943. They remained married until his passing. Ruthie worked for the Decatur County School System. She was a housewife and mother of four children: Ulysees, Jeanette, Barbara, and Arthur. In addition to being a loving and devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Tyler was a faithful friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eula Tyler, and daughter, Jeanette Tyler. She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Ulysees Tyler, Barbara Yates, both of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Arthur Wilcox of Quincy, Florida; and son-in-law, Vernon Yates of Bainbridge, Georgia. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren, including Rebecca Mohammed of Bainbridge, Georgia, Vernon Yates Jr., Michelle Tyler, both of Brockton, Massachusetts, Kenny Jones of Bainbridge, Georgia, Valerie Tyler, Andre Tyler, Ulysees Tyler Jr., all of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mark Tyler, and Ciana Tyler, both of Brockton, Massachusetts; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
