Sister Jessie Mae Weems Johnson

GOD called her Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born August 25, 1933 in Newville, Alabama to the late Mr. Ermon D. and Mrs. Stella M. Weems. Sister Johnson was a faithful member of the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She served on Usher Board #2. She was preceded in death by three daughters: Jessie Mae Johnson, Deloris Johnson, and Mamie Ruth Melton; one grandson, James B. Melton IV; two brothers, Odell Weems and Shahid Ahmed; and fours sisters: Essie D. Kelly, Mary Agnes Culver, Annie Lois Howard, and Jewell Pulley. To cherish her memory she leaves her children: Anthony Joe Johnson (Mary) of Bainbridge, GA, Ester Jean Harper (Jerry) of Iron City, GA, Lillian Starks (Willie) of Dundee, FL, and Alfred Thomas Johnson (Yolanda) of Topeka, KS; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; her siblings: Erma Caldwell (Richard) of Neshanic Station, NJ, Gloria Weems of Scotch Plains, NJ, Shabi Elefthern (Milton), Angela Weems, both of Astoria, NY, and Paul Ahamed of West Englewood, CA; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
