Virginia Edwards

Virginia Edwards, affectionately known as “Sam”, was born December 8, 1952, to the late Namion and Agnes Edwards of Bainbridge, Georgia. She was a lifelong resident of Bainbridge. Virginia accepted CHRIST as her SAVIOR. She was a member of Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church of Fowlstown, Georgia.

Sam departed her earthly life on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her only child, Terry Goss, as well as two sisters, Georgia Mae Gibson (the Late Dock) and Annie Mae Edwards.

She leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Rufus Edwards (Gwen) of Flint, Michigan; her sisters: Ruby Lee Harris (Carlton) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jeanette Pearson (the Late Benjamin) of Zellwood, Florida, Mary Simon (the late Roosevelt) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brenda Kendrick (Calvin) of Bainbridge, Georgia; her sister and best friend, Annie Ruth Tyler Jackson of Fowlstown, Georgia; and a host of nephews and nieces who loved her dearly.

Sam, we will always remember your sarcastic “tell-it-like-it-is” comments, which will surely bring smiles to our faces.
